Lekki Real Estate: How to outsmart Omorile's

Omorile” are the name given to the indigence of the communities located in Lekki. Dealing with Omorile when buying a property can be the most irritating and unforgettable experience for an investor.
When it comes to buying of properties in Lekki either directly or indirectly from the Omorile and developing your property, you can’t bypass the Omorile’s. Doing so is not advisable and is even at your own risk. Any
agent that is trying to prevent you from having any dealings with the Omorile when you want to purchase a property is likely to be a scam because apart from the negative side of Omorile they play the role of regulating the property market in their community.

 TIPS TO OUTSMART OMORILE
  • Pay them their dues:  When purchasing a property or developing the property, it’s imperative for you to find out first what the Omorile’s charges will be and make sure you settle them and they won’t come close to your property. Give what belongs to Caesar to Caesar and what belongs to God to God. Follow this principles and you won’t have any problems with the Omorile's. Want to make them your friends? Occasionally give the youths some tips and they will worship you and even fight for you if need be.
  • Make sure that the property you bought is not under dispute by the family members of the community (Omorile's families) Conflicts arising from the dispute of land by the rival family members often results in deaths and serious injuries to the the rival Omorile groups, land agents, surveyors, passers by and even to the person who wants to buy the property. Just last week, a friend of mine who is a surveyor gave a testimony of how he narrowly escaped death at the hands of rival Omorile group arising from a dispute of ownership of land by the Omorile's families.
  • Make sure you erect a structure on any property you purchase to secure the property. Erecting a structure or a fence will prevent the Omorile's from re-selling the property to someone else. When i say erecting a structure, i don't mean erecting a very high fence. Erecting a fence as high as your knee is high enough to secure your land. Lets say with as little as N250K, your can erect a fence that can secure a plot of land.
Hope this tips are useful. Please if you have any questions or comments, leave it at the comments box below. See you next week on my next blog. I wish you a happy property hunting.
